Over Rs. 479 thousand revenue collected within 24 hours from traffic action

The traffic police have taken action against 1,841 motorists during the 'inspection' carried out at various locations throughout the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours. A total of Rs. 4 lakh 79 thousand 501 has been collected from these actions.

Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Chief and Senior Superintendent of Police Navraj Adhikari reported that 1,841 drivers have been penalized during the investigation conducted up to this morning. This includes 107 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 192 for ride-sharing, 183 for running red lights, 126 for speeding, 41 for lane violations, 75 for driving on sidewalks, 149 for honking in restricted areas, 77 for one-way violations, and 891 for other offenses. He stated, "In a span of 24 hours, 1,841 drivers who breached traffic regulations in the Kathmandu Valley have faced penalties.

The total revenue collected from this operation amounts to Rs. 4 lakh 79 thousand 501." Driving under the influence of alcohol is illegal and subject to penalties. If there is any suspicion that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, the traffic police urge passengers to report immediately to the nearest police station, the traffic control room hotline at 103, or the police hotline at 100.
