Mega Bank Increases Net Profit

Mega Bank (MEGA) has earned a net profit of Rs 732 million in the second quarter of the current FY compared to Rs 393.6 million of the corresponding period of the last FY.

The net profit increased by 85.96 percent i.e. Rs 338.3 million in the review period. As per the financial report published under NFRS format, the bank earned a distributable profit of Rs 547 million.

The EPS of the bank increased by Rs 3.42 to Rs 14.09 compared to Rs 10.67. During the period, the bank raised its paid-up capital to Rs 10.38 billion from earlier Rs 7.37 billion. The bank has net worth per share of Rs 122.26 and P/E ratio of 12.24 times.

Meanwhile, the deposit collection and loan extension of the bank increased by 55.48 percent and 61.52 percent respectively. The bank collected deposit of Rs 70.85 billion and extended loan of Rs 65.84 billion in the review period.

During the period, the bank increased its net interest income by 110.33 percent to Rs 1.78 billion compared to Rs 846.3 million of the last FY.

Similarly, the bank maintained reserve fund of Rs 2.31 billion in the review period.  The bank has bad debt of 1.21 percent, base interest rate of 10.83 percent and cost of fund of 7.71 percent.
