Net Insurance Premium of Surya Life Insurance Nears Billion

Surya Life Insurance (SLICL) has earned a net insurance premium of Rs 953.3 million in the second quarter of the current FY compared to Rs 681.2 million of the corresponding period of the last FY.

The company that has issued a total of 376,000 insurance policies has earned Rs 995 million in total insurance premium.

The company has earned a net profit of Rs 108.2 million in the review period compared to Rs 72.6 million of the last FY.

Surya Life with a paid-up capital of Rs 1.13 billion has EPS of Rs 19.12, net worth per share of Rs 143.78 and P/E ratio of 28.92 times.

In the review period, the company has reserve fund of Rs 431.4 million, life insurance fund of Rs 4.30 billion and disaster fund of Rs 64.1 million.

Moreover, the company earned Rs 204 million on loan investment and other income, Rs 13.4 million through loan against insurance policy and Rs 13.4 million from interest income.

Till date, the company has paid Rs 110 million on a total of 789 claims while it has outstanding claim of Rs 15.1 million during the period.
