Prime Life Insurance Earns 2.8 Bn in Premium

Prime Life Insurance (PLIC) has earned a net insurance premium of Rs 2.86 billion in the fourth quarter of the last FY compared to Rs 2.21 billion of the corresponding period of the previous FY.

The company earned Rs 773.6 million in investment, loan and other income and Rs 71.2 million in loan against insurance policy of Rs 893.7 million.

In the review period, the company earned a net profit of Rs 313 million compared to Rs 211.2 million. The company with Rs 1.78 billion in paid-up capital has reserve fund of Rs 1.24 billion, life insurance fund of Rs 8.90 billion and disaster fund of Rs 123.5 million.

The company has EPS of Rs 17.54, net worth per share of Rs 176.70 and P/E ratio of 25.03 times.

Till date, the company has earned Rs 15.14 billion in total insurance premium and issued 1,682,028 insurance policies. The company has paid Rs 507 million to 2,359 claims.
