Sagarmatha Insurance Earns Net Insurance Premium of Rs 1.01 Bn

Sagarmatha Insurance (SIC) has earned a net insurance premium of Rs 1.01 billion in the fourth quarter of the last FY compared to Rs 864.8 million of the corresponding period of the previous FY.

The company earned Rs 318.6 million in reinsurance commission and Rs 89.3 million from investment, loan and other income.

Although the company increased its net insurance premium by 17.27 percent its net profit has decreased by Rs 71.1 million to Rs 276.5 million from earlier Rs 347.7 million.

The company with Rs 1.12 billion in paid-up capital has reserve fund of Rs 343.2 million, insurance fund of Rs 488.7 million and disaster fund of Rs 80.7 million.

Till date, the company issued 149,692 insurance policies and collected Rs 2.17 billion in insurance premium. By the period, the company paid Rs 956.1 million to 6,051 claims. It has outstanding claims of Rs 857.2 million.

In the review period, the company logged EPS of Rs 27.62, net worth per share of Rs 191.17 and P/E ratio of 21.90 times.
