Net Insurance Premium of Nepal Life Increases 3 Bn

Nepal Life Insurance (NLIC) has published its third quarter report of the current FY. As per the report, the company increased its net insurance premium by Rs 3 billion in the review period.

In the third quarter, the company earned net insurance premium of Rs 18.41 billion. The net insurance premium increased by Rs 3.22 billion compared to Rs 15.19 billion of the corresponding period of the last FY.

Although the company increased its net insurance premium significantly, the company logged minimal increment in its net profit. The company earned a net profit of Rs 467.5 million compared to Rs 467.2 million of the last FY.

 The company with Rs 5.49 billion in paid-up capital has reserve fund of Rs 2.73 billion, life insurance fund of Rs 81.37 billion and disaster fund of Rs 475.7 million. The company extended loan against policies of Rs 16.69 billion through which it earned Rs 1.15 billion in interest income.

The company has EPS of Rs 11.34, net worth per share of Rs 158.36 and P/E ratio of 92.92 times.

By the third quarter, the company issued a total of 1,280,310 insurance polices and earned Rs 110.37 billion in total insurance premium. The company paid Rs 4.76 billion to 30,474 claims and has outstanding payment of Rs 724.4 million.
