Feast in the Final Day

The government’s current and capital expenses have increased significantly in the final days of the current FY.

Since the beginning of the current FY, the government had failed to spent budgetary expenses as planned. The situation goes direr when COVID-19 hits the nation. However, suddenly in the last final days, the government has increased its expenditure drastically.

On July 14, the government spent nearly Rs 25 billion as per the statistics of Office of Auditor General. According to the statistics, the government spent Rs 12.12 billion on capital expenses and Rs 10.18 billion in current expenses. Similarly, it spent Rs 2.65 billion in financial expenses.

Similarly, the government collected revenue of Rs 13.94 billion including Rs 8.99 in taxes and Rs 4.95 billion in other income.
