Financial Standing of 23 Hydropower Companies Which Publish Q4 Report of the Last FY

Out of 33 listed hydropower companies, 23 companies have published their fourth-quarter report of the last FY.

By the period, 23 hydropower companies earned Rs 2.33 billion in net profit. Similarly, they earned Rs 5.33 billion income from the sale of electricity. Those companies have cumulative paid-up capital of Rs 46.72 billion and a reserve fund of Rs 8.45 billion.

Chilime Hydropower Earned Highest Net Profit and Sales from Electricity

Chilime Hydropower Company logged the highest net profit in the last FY. The company earned Rs 751.4 million in net profit during the period. Out of 23 companies, 6 have incurred losses. Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower incurred the highest loss during the period.

Similarly, Chilime Hydropower also earned the highest sales from electricity. The company earned Rs 1.14 billion from sales. Meanwhile, Rairang Hdyropower earned the lowest sales from electricity. Out of 23 hydropower companies, 5 have not generated electricity yet.

Upper Tamakoshi has highest paid-up capital, Butwal Power has highest reserve fund

Out of the 23 listed hydropower companies, Upper Tamakoshi has the highest paid-up capital of Rs 10.59 billion however, it has the least reserve fund. In terms of a reserve fund, Butwal Power leads other companies. It has Rs 4.53 billion in such funds.

6 companies log negative EPS

In the last FY, 6 hydropower companies logged negative EPS i.e. loss per share. Butwal Power has the highest EPS of Rs 26.93 while Himalayan Urja has the lowest EPS.

Butwal Power logged the highest net worth in the last FY. The company has a net worth of Rs 268.96 while Divyashwori Hydropower has the lowest net worth.
