Nepal Telecommunication Authority has cancelled license of Hello Nepal after it fails to pay outstanding dues.

As per Achyutnanda Mishra, co-spokesperson of NTA, the telecom regulatory body cancelled the license of the company under Telecommunication Act after it ignored multiple chances to clear its dues.

Previously, NTA sought clarification from the company regarding the outstanding dues and possible license cancellation, however, it could not take NTA into confidence through its clarification.

Earlier, the license of the company was cancelled on December last year, however, the license was renewed as the former government gave protection to the company by giving installment facility.

As per NTA, Hello Nepal’s parent company Nepal Satellite Telecom has outstanding dues of Rs 23 billion since the last four years.

The company has outstanding dues of Rs 1.4 billion with NTA. The company has not started its services and has no customer till date.
