The banks that had kept the interest rates intact for the last six months have increased the rates for the upcoming month.
As per the published notices, the banks have raised the interest rates to the highest of 12.13 percent. The banks raised the rates for personal fixed deposits.
The banks raised the interest rates after Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), on September 15, decided to scrap the gentelmen agreement of keeping the interest rates intact for the last six months.
