Overall, this year, NEPSE Index gained more than 4.5 percent. The index which was at 1934.47 points on Chaitra 30, 2079 closed at 2025.70 points on the last trading day of this year. The index gained 91.23 points i.e. 4.72 percent during the period.
Similarly, during the period, the float index rose by 1.14 percent. in the end of last FY, the float index was at 135.50 points which increased by 1.54 percent to 137.04 points by the end of the current year.
Similarly, sensitive index and sensitive float index lost 2.66 percent and 4.49 percent respectively.
Out of 13 subgroups, the year saw a gain in eleven and a loss in two sub-groups. During the year, Hotel and Tourism subgroup logged the highest gain of 53.02 percent. the sub-index of the group which was at 3344.60 points in last year gained 177337 points and closed at 5117.97 points. In terms of numbers, the Manufacturing and Processing group logged the highest gain. The sub-index of the group which was 4516.54 points gained 2235.07 to close at 6751.61 points.
During the year, sub index of hydropower and banking group lost the most points. Out of them, the banking sub-group logged the highest lost of 15.59 percent followed by the hydropower sub-group with 1.72 points loss.
