International Trade Slows Down; Trade Deficit Improves by 2.7%

In the month of Chaitra, both imports and exports of Nepal have declined.

As per the data published by Customs Department, Nepal imported goods and merchandise worth Rs 1167 billion which is 2.84 percent less compared to Rs 1201 billion of the review period of the last FY.

Similarly, the country exported 113 billion worth of goods and merchandise during the period which is 3.66 percent less compared to Rs 118 billion of the last FY.

The decline in exports and imports has however slightly improved the trade deficit of the country. The trade deficit of the country declined to Rs 1053 billion down from 1083 billion of the review period of the last FY. The trade deficit declined by 2.7 percent during the period.
