Issuing a press statement, the bank informed that the event, themed 'Swing for Sustainability', underscored the bank’s commitment to environmental responsibility by adopting a zero-carbon approach and championing green initiatives.
According to the statement, the bank conducted a comprehensive environmental assessment, estimating the event's carbon footprint at 1 ton of CO2 before the tournament. In response, the bank committed to planting 1,000 trees, far exceeding the recommended 45 trees to offset the impact. Additionally, each participant received a plant sapling, symbolizing their personal contribution to a greener future.
The one-day event attracted 107 enthusiastic golfers, including eight women, who competed in an 18-hole stableford format with a 3/4 handicap. The tournament brought together corporate leaders, golf enthusiasts, and sustainability advocates, creating a vibrant atmosphere of sportsmanship and environmental consciousness.
