He took the oath of office and secrecy before President Ramchandra Paudel at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas. He is also a former Finance Secretary.
President Paudel appointed him as the Finance Minister on Sunday evening, on the recommendation of the interim government's Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
