A meeting of the NEPSE Board of Directors held on Sunday decided to open the market on Friday to ensure that the market would be traded five days a week. From now on, the market will be closed on Sunday and regular trading will take place on Friday.
Chudamani Chapagain,Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NEPSE told 'Merolagani’ that the meeting held yesterday decided to open the trade floor on Friday. According to him, the office hours will be set till 5 pm on Friday and share trading will also take place on the same day.
This is not the first time that NEPSE is opening its trading floor on Friday. Earlier, NEPSE kept the market open on Friday when the government had decided to give a public holiday on Saturday and Sunday effective from May 15, 2022. During the period, the stock market was open for 5 days a week (Monday to Friday). When the government canceled Sunday's holiday, NEPSE returned to its old work schedule.
