On the day, the sensitive index increased by 2.78 points, while the float index increased by 1.36 points and the sensitive float index by 1.01 points.
Investor sentiment was heavily skewed toward financial companies, making the finance sector the star performer of the day. Broad market participation was evident as 12 out of the 13 sector sub-groups posted gains, while only one i.e. manufacturing and processing group faced a marginal decline.
Despite the rise in the NEPSE index, the turnover volume decreased on the day. On Tuesday, 11,385,000 unit shares worth Rs 5.26 billion were transacted in 61,527 trades.
On the day, stock of Kalinchowk Hydropower was traded at positive circuit level. The company's share price rose by Rs 64.90 to close at Rs 498.20 on the day. Similarly, the share price of Central Finance has increased by more than 13.5 percent and the share price of Crest Micro Life Insurance has increased by 10.5 percent.
On the basis of turnover, Ankhu Khola Hydropower topped the list with Rs 467.6 million worth of transaction. Similarly, shares worth Rs 265 million of Nepal Reinsurance Company were traded on the day, while the turnover of Ridi Power Company crossed Rs 260 million.
