Despite a sluggish secondary market and a temporary halt in approvals due to a vacant chairman position at the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), the influx of companies seeking to issue rights shares remains strong. Currently, 25 companies are in the pipeline, awaiting regulatory permission to raise a cumulative total of Rs 25.47 billion.

The latest data from SEBON’s Regulation Department for the current fiscal year 2082/83 highlights that the hydropower sector is heavily dominating these fundraising initiatives.

SEBON has issued a cautionary note to the public, clarifying that a company's presence in the pipeline does not guarantee eligibility or final approval for a rights issuance.
