NEPSE Index Declines, Debenture Trading intensifies

On the last trading day of the week, the NEPSE index has again decreased. On Friday, the NEPSE index decreased by 1.13 points to close at 2,600.78 points.

Similarly, the Sensitive Index decreased by 0.58 points, while the Float Index decreased by 0.15 points and the Sensitive Float Index decreased by 0.19 points.

Although the NEPSE index decreased, the transaction volume has increased on this day. Shares worth Rs 6.86 billion were traded in 53,432 trades on the day. The transaction amount increased due to the increase in debentures trading.

On the day, out of top 10 most traded stocks, nine are debentures. Today, 8.5 percent Nepal Bank Debentures worth Rs 900 million were traded while 8.5 percent RBBL Debentures worth Rs 700 million were traded. Similarly, 8.5 percent Sanima Debentures worth more than Rs 285 million were traded on the day.

Today, share price of Aatma Nirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha rose the highest by 10.66 percent on the day. Similarly, the share price of Kumari Equity Fund increased by 9 percent and the share price of Kalanga Hydro increased by 7 percent. Meanwhile, the share price of Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company fell by 7.84 percent on the day.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of 6 sub-groups have increased while the indices of 7 sub-groups have decreased. The index of the trading sub-group increased the most by 1.27 percent on the day. Likewise, the indices of investment, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, mutual fund and non-life insurance sub-groups increased slightly.
