According to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), it has earned Rs 29.32 billion from electricity trade in the last fiscal year.
A total of 3.877 billion units of electricity was sold in the Indian open market and trade with Bangladesh at an average price of Rs 7.56.
The export volume increased by 62.89 percent compared to the previous FY. In the previous FY 2081/82, NEA exported of 2.38 billion units of electricity and had earned Rs 17.45 billion.
Encouraging improvement has been seen in Nepal's energy sector due to increase in export and contraction in imports.
