The financial assistance has been channeled into the Prime Minister's Natural Disaster Relief Fund to finance ongoing rescue operations, emergency relief, and the long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction of regions severely impacted by natural disasters, particularly the Bhotekoshi watershed area, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and surrounding districts.
Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle publicly expressed deep appreciation for the contribution, noting that the unprecedented backing from a prominent international tech leader has helped push total collections in the disaster relief fund past the Rs 10 billion milestone. Government officials have highlighted that this donation stands as the largest single relief contribution received from the international private sector thus far.
The recent catastrophic floods have inflicted massive destruction across Nepal, damaging crucial infrastructure including roads, bridges, residential settlements, and hydropower projects. With government estimates pointing toward multi-billion-dollar requirements for complete reconstruction, authorities have emphasized that the influx of international solidarity and resources like Huang's donation will play a vital role in executing transparent, need-based recovery efforts and bolstering climate resilience moving forward.
