Gorkha Brewery Installs International Standard Waste Treatment Plant

Gorkha Brewery has installed an international standard waste treatment plant worth Rs 85 million to make its industrial waste environment-friendly. In a bid to make the plant more progressive, Gorkha Brewery is preparing to operate a fishery in the treated water before releasing the water into a river.

Unlike other manufacturing plants, the company treats its wastewater and air before releasing them into the environment. For that, the company has installed advanced treatment and wastewater plant on its premises.

Brewery releases its wastewater into Narayani River only after the treatment. Moreover, the company is also planning to operate fishery near the water treatment sewage so that to make the water more environment-friendly.

The company has installed advanced aerobics and anaerobic plant for the treatment of wastewater. A committed environmentalist, Brewery has recently increased the capacity of the plant to 750 kiloliters from 400 kiloliters.

Gorkha Brewery produces 2,000 hectoliter beer daily at full capacity. It produces beer in the brand name of Tuborg, Carlsberg, Gorkha and Apple Cider Somersby.
