Nepal Life Earns Premium of Rs 16 Bn in Last FY

Nepal Life Insurance (NLIC) has increased its net insurance premium by Rs 4 billion in the last FY. The company that earned Rs 12.05 billion in insurance premium in the previous FY rose its earning to Rs 16.73 billion in the last FY.

During the period, the company earned net profit of Rs 479.2 million (before actuarial valuation) which is 15 percent growth compared to Rs 410 million of the previous FY.

In the review period, the income of the company decreased by Rs 310 million to Rs 992.2 million. Such income was Rs 1.30 billion in the previous FY. Similarly, its expenses increased by Rs 210 million.

Nepal Life has life insurance fund of Rs 50.49 billion, disaster fund of Rs 373.3 million and reserve fund of Rs 3.47 billion.

The paid-up capital of the company rose to Rs 4.39 billion from Rs 3.09 billion in the review period.

The company has issued a total of 1,152,860 policies and earned Rs 16.17 billion in total insurance premium. The company has paid Rs 6.21 billion in claim on 38,499 policies.

The company has EPS of Rs 10.90, net worth per share of Rs 187.07 and P/E ratio of 96.33 times.
