Dr Chiranjibi Nepal Governor of NRB has said that the availability of data and information on banking and financial access will help to formulate necessary policies and programs targeted to the rural areas.

Launching a comprehensive database on financial inclusion on Sunday Governor Nepal said that the database will provide information and data of remote and rural areas to regulators and government so that they can develop policies and financial strategies for those areas.  “Given that the policymakers can develop policies and strategies by looking at this portal, the portal is very important," he added.

"The portal will assist the government and the central bank to develop financial infrastructure to increase financial access and economic growth", he said.

Nepal Financial Inclusion Portal launched on Sunday is an innovative tool that will help regulatory bodies and financial service providers to report their data systematically.

The portal is beneficial in measuring financial inclusion and generating analytical reports to facilitate data-driven policy intervention.
