Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) Chairman Digambar Jha has resigned from his post on Wednesday evening.

Chairman Jha shared that he tendered his resignation before Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota. He told RSS that he stepped down on moral grounds after ruling Nepal Communist Party (CPN) made such demand.

The CPN was prodded within the party to sack Jha. "Even the Communications Minister and Prime Minister are criticized unnecessarily. My prestige was besmirched. So I resigned from the post," he made it clear.

Jha was appointed to the post first in 2069BS and again in 2074BS. He was appointed for the term of four years.
