Foreign investors ready to invest in Lumbini: FM Khatiwada

Minister for Finance, Dr Yubraj Khatiwada, has said that foreign investors are excited to invest for the development of Lumbini. 

Addressing a programme organised at Dhakdhai of Rupandehi on Monday, Finance Minister Khatiwada said, "Foreign investors had come up with Rs 20 billion in the recently held Nepal Investment Summit to run integrated project in Lumbini for its development. We have signed agreement of Rs 4 billion thinking it will be enough for it for the time being." 

He further said that projects like a modern hospital with maternity house and road expansion would be constructed in Lumbini. 

The Finance Minister said that the government was making arrangement of budget to link Behaliya-Butwal six-lane road with mid-hill highway, saying the project of Buddha Circuit would be kept on top priority in coming budget. 

Saying the Swiss government has prepared detailed project report for the construction of tunnel at Siddhababa, Minister Khatiwada said that the Swiss government was requested to construct the project and it was positive towards it.
