IB Bars Cash Dividend of Nepal Insurance

Insurance Board (IB) has barred Nepal Insurance from distributing cash dividend. Earlier, the company proposed 7.5 percent stock and cash dividend for tax purpose to be distributed to its shareholders.

However, IB directed the company to withdraw the proposal of cash dividend worth Rs 4 million. Following the direction, the shareholders will be provided stock dividend only. The shareholders are required to pay tax amount by themselves.

Presently, the company has a paid-up capital of Rs 1.01 billion which will reach Rs 1.09 billion after the bonus share distribution.
