NRB Deducts Cash Limit To Be Withdrawn From ATM

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has deducted the cash limit to be withdrawn from ATM. The step is taken to prevent unauthorized cash withdrawal from the banking system after five Chinese nationals were arrested for the same on September 1.

The central bank took the step based on the suggestion provided by the task force formed to study the ATM hack. The task force was formed under the conveyor ship of NRB Executive Director Bam Bahadur Mishra.

Issuing a circular, NRB informed of deducting the cash limit to Rs 60,000 from earlier Rs 100,000 in a day. Similarly, the central bank deducted the cash limit to Rs 20,000 from earlier Rs 25,000 at one time. However, the minimum withdrawable amount is rested at Rs 500.

Likewise, one can withdraw a minimum of Rs 500 to a maximum of Rs 20,000 from ATM of a different bank.
