Lumbini General Insurance’s Net Profit Decreases 10%

The net profit of Lumbini General Insurance (LGIL) has decreased by 10.52 percent to Rs 37.4 million  in the first quarter of the current FY compared to Rs 41.8 million of the corresponding period of the last FY.

Similarly, the net insurance premium of the company also decreased by 7.75 percent to Rs 193.9 million compared to Rs 210.2 million of the last FY.

In the review period, the company earned Rs 32.1 million from reinsurance commission and Rs 15 million from investment, loan and other income.

The company with Rs 880 million in paid-up capital has reserve fund of Rs 281.7 million, insurance fund of Rs 588.5 million and disaster fund of Rs 54.6 million.

During the period, the company issued 30,284 insurance policies and earned Rs 317.4 million in total insurance premium. The insurance paid Rs 175.2 million to 1,221 claims and has outstanding premium of Rs 575.7 million to 2,854 claims.

The company maintained EPS of Rs 16.98, net worth per share of Rs 205.09 and P/E ratio of 18.67 times.
