According to the Area Police Office, Bhimad, all the equipment such as generator, battery and electricity wires among others set on the telephone tower have been completely destroyed in the blaze.
Police Inspector Bhesraj Regmi shared that the staffers at the Ncell office in Damauli had brought the incident to the knowledge of the police Saturday night through SMS.
The police ascertained the arson today morning upon the on-site visit. The preliminary investigation suggests that fire was caused in the tower due to the short circuit in the main metre of the adjacent electricity pole.
It is not known yet who set the tower on fire and purpose behind the act was still known, police said, adding that search for those inflicting damage on the tower was had been expedited.
