In the current FY, 37 companies provided a dividend worth Rs 19.79 billion to the shareholders. The dividend includes a stock dividend of Rs 11.63 billion and a cash dividend of Rs 8.15 billion.
Till date, 9 commercial banks provided total dividend of Rs 12.34 billion, 11 insurance companies provided Rs 5.35 billion, 4 development banks Rs 814 million, 8 microfinance companies Rs 637 million, ‘others’ Rs 255.3 million, hotels Rs 169.6 million, Finance Rs 108.7 million, 2 hydropower companies Rs 101.8 million.
Among them, 20 companies provided dividends of 2074/75, 8 of 2075/76 and one of 2073/74.
These companies distributed the dividend after endorsing the proposals from their respective AGMs.
In the last FY, 94 listed companies distributed dividend to their shareholders. In the current FY, many more companies are yet to distribute dividend to their shareholders.
The shareholders of Global IME Bank received the highest dividend in the current FY. The company distributed stock dividend worth Rs 1.33 billion and cash dividend worth Rs 2.66 billion. Similarly, the shareholders of Janautthan Samudayik Laghubitta received the lowest dividend worth Rs 6 million during the period.
Out of 37 companies, 28 companies distributed stock and cash dividend while 9 companies distributed stock dividend only. The shareholders of these 9 companies required to pay capital gain taxes by themselves.
As per the statistics of SEBON, 37 companies have registered 116,348,735.33 units of bonus share in SEBON after the endorsement of bonus share proposal through their respective AGMs.
