Loss of Dibyashwori Hydropower Increases

Dibyashwori Hydropower (DHPL) has incurred loss of Rs 31.6 million in the third quarter of the last FY. The company was in loss of Rs 20.6 million in the corresponding period of the previous FY.

The losses increased due to decline in income from sale of electricity. By the third quarter of the last FY, the company earned Rs 57.5 million from sale of electricity which was Rs 10.5 million in the review period of the previous FY.

The project was destructed due to flood that occurred in the rainy season of the last FY. As the project is now fully reconstructed, it will produce electricity in its full capacity from the coming rainy season.

The company with Rs 264 million in paid-up capital has reserve loss of Rs 163.2 million. The company logged loss per share of Rs 11.99, P/E ratio of 4.25 times and net worth per share of Rs 38.17.
