NRB Amends Interest Subsidy Procedure For Concessional Loans; Women Entrepreneurs To Be Provided  Loan Upto Rs 1.5 Million

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to implement Interest Subsidy Procedure for Concessional Loan 2075 (third amendment) on Tuesday.

The central bank amended the working procedure related to interest subsidy for concessional loans for the third time. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on September 24 had decided to pass the procedure.

As per the procedure, a woman entrepreneur will be provided a concessional loan of a maximum Rs 1.5 million. Similarly, a maximum of Rs 50 million will be provided for commercial agriculture and livestock loans, Rs 700,000 for educated youth and self-employment loans and Rs 1 million for youth project loans for foreign returnees.

Similarly, individuals can obtain Dalit community business development loan of Rs. 1 million, high technology and business loan of Rs 500,000, earthquake victims' private housing loan of Rs 300,000, textile industry of Rs 50 million, technical education and vocational training loan of Rs 200,000 from BFIs.
