Remittance Increases Despite Decreased Number of Nepali Workers Going Aboard

According to the current macroeconomic and financial situation of Nepal based on eleven months period, remittance inflows in the country has increased by 12.6 percent to Rs 870.94 billion in the review period.

The remittance increased against a decrease of 3.2 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year.

 In the US Dollar terms, remittance inflows increased by 10.4 percent to 7.39 billion in the review period against a decrease of 5.2 percent in the same period of the previous year.

During the review period, the number of Nepali workers (institutional and individual-new and legalized) taking approval for foreign employment decreased 59.9 percent. It had decreased 12.4 percent in the same period of the previous year.

The number of Nepali workers (Renew entry) taking approval for foreign employment decreased by 47.1 percent in the review period. It had decreased by 31.1 percent in the same period of the previous year.
