Insurance companies earn 34.5 Bn premium in two months

The life and non-life insurance companies have earned Rs 34.53 billion in insurance premium in the first two months of the current FY.

 As per the data published by Insurance Board (IB), 19 life insurance companies earned Rs 38.15 billion and 20 non-life insurance companies earned Rs 6.38 billion in premium during the period.

Most of the companies have managed to increase their premium earnings during the period.

Among the life insurance companies, Nepal Life has earned the highest premium of Rs 7.62 billion during the period. Apart from Nepal Life new companies like Prabhu, Sun Nepal, Citizen, Reliance, reliable life have increased the premium by above cent percent. The new companies are aggressively expanding their businesses too.

Similarly, Shikhar insurance has earned the highest premium among the non-life insurance companies. It earned Rs 680 million in premium during the period.

 Meanwhile, the premium earning of Lumbini General Insurance has decreased by 4.55 percent to Rs 210 million.
