Government Hikes Milk Price

The government has hiked the price of milk by Rs 6.52 per liter. The cabinet meeting of the ministers held on January 31 decided to increase the milk price for farmers.

Following the increment, the milk price has reached Rs 56.04 per liter. Previously the milk price was Rs 49.52 per liter.

The government took the decision as per the demand made by dairy farmers. They had been demanding an immediate hike of Rs 15-20 per liter in milk prices citing increase in cost of production.

Right now, customers pay Rs 38 for half a liter of packet of milk which will certainly go up after the hike.
