LIC Nepal’s Net Profit Declines with Fall in Premium Collection

Life Insurance Corporation Nepal (LICN) has earned a net insurance premium of Rs 449.4 million in the first quarter of the current FY.

The net premium collection declined by 14.04 percent compared to the corresponding period of the last FY.

Along with it, its net profit has also declined during the period. The company incurred net loss of Rs 5.9 million during the period. In the review period of the last FY, it had earned Rs 31.9 million in net profit.

Similarly, it earned Rs 1.84 billion from investment, loan and other and Rs 482.8 million from loans against polciies of Rs 19.79 billion.

The company with rs 2.65 billion in paid-up capital has reerve fund of Rs 609.7 million, life insurance fund of Rs 97.50 billion and disaster fund of Rs 360.5 million.

The company logged LPS of Rs 0.22 and P/E ratio of -536.9 times. The company has net worth per share of Rs 136.57.

During the period, the company earned Rs 4.51 billion in total insurance premium. It paid Rs 1.95 billion to 4,521 claims and has outstanding claim payment of Rs 375.9 million.
