The board of directors meeting of the bank held on Saturday appointed Gurung as CEO for the next tenure.
The post was vacant since the former CEO Anil Upadhya left the bank after completing four years of tenure.
Gurung has earlier worked in Himalayan Bank, Global IME Bank and Mega Bank. Moreover, he worked in Civil Bank as CEO. More recently, he worked as CEO of a bank in Myanmar.
He will start his tenure on Monday.
