Indian government has reduced GST on the purchase of electronics items such as washing machines, mobile phones, refrigerators, home appliances, UPS and more.

The move will make these devices more affordable for users.

The Indian government has lowered GST on mobile phones from 31.3 percent to 12 percent.

Similarly, it has slashed GST from 31.3 percent to 18 percent on TVs with a screen size of 27 inches or less.

Home appliances like refrigerators and washing machines, as well as fans, coolers, geysers and other household appliances such as mixers, juicers, vacuum cleaners, LEDs, vacuum flasks and vacuum utensils have also got a GST cut which will make the items cheaper.

Given that Nepal imports most of electronic appliances from India, it will affect the domestic market as well.
