Issuing a circular on Monday, the central bank increased the limit of letter of credit (LC) required to import goods and merchandise.
NRB raised the LC limit to INR 30 million while importing from India and to USD 60,000 while importing from other countries.
Previously, the limit was up to USD 50,000.
Moreover, an importer can reapply for LC after seven days of the previous LC opening.
