Life Insurance Companies’ First Insurance Premium Earning Exceeds Rs 2Bn

In the month of Magh of the current FY, the total amount of the first insurance premium earned by life insurance companies has exceeded Rs 2 billion.

According to the data published by Nepal Insurance Authority, 14 life insurance companies that are in operation earned Rs 2.29 billion in first insurance premium in a month period by issuing 448,666 policies.

In the month, Nepal Life Insurance collected the highest first premium of Rs 527.6 million followed by National Life with Rs 365.7 million and SuryoJyoti Life with Rs 186.9 million.

In terms of number of insurance policies, National Life Insurance issued the highest number of policies. It issued 82,879 policies during the period. Similarly, Met Life Insurance comes in second position with 77,113 policies followed by Sanima Reliance and Citizen Life Insurance.

In the meantime, Himalayan Life Insurance issued the lowest number of policies. It issued 3,019 policies during the period.
