Remittance Inflows Increased by 21.0% in Eight Months

The remittance inflow has increased by 21.0 percent to Rs 961.22 billion by the month of Falgun.

As per the study ‘ Current macroeconomic and financial situation of Nepal’ based on eight months data published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the remittance inflow increased by 25.3 percent in the corresponding period of the previous FY.

In US Dollar terms, the remittance inflows increased 18.8 percent to 7.24  billion in the review period against an increase of 14.8 percent in the same period of the previous year.

Similarly, the number of Nepali workers (institutional and individual-new) taking approval for foreign employment stands at 286,932 in the review period.

 The number of Nepali workers (Renew entry) taking approval for foreign employment stands at 184,278.

Likewise, the net transfer increased by 18.9 percent to Rs 1041.96 billion in the review period. Such a transfer had increased by 23.9 percent in the same period of the previous year.
