The 9.9 MW Iwakhola Hydroelectric Project constructed in the Iwakhola River is located at the border of Panchthar and Taplejung districts.
The company is operating the hydropower project since 7 October 2019. However, the project was closed for maintenance after a flood caused on 15 June 2023, significantly damaged its powerhouse, dam site, gates, and headrace pipe, halting electricity generation.
Now the company has resumed its operating after completing repair and reconstruction of the damaged structures. The company also resumed supplying electricity to the national transmission line from the day.
