NEPSE index declines in double digits

On Tuesday, the NEPSE index posted a double-digit fall. On the day, the NEPSE index decreased by 26.16 points to close at 2,770.26 points. Similarly, the Sensitive Index decreased by 2.14 points, while the Float Index decreased by 1.53 points and the Sensitive Float Index decreased by 0.83 points.

Although the NEPSE index decreased, the transaction volume has increased on this day. Today, a total of 14,018,920 units of shares of 269 companies were traded at a total of Rs 6.53 billion.

Among the stocks traded on this day, the price of debentures have increased the most. Among them, Himalayan Bank Limited Bond, 2086 has increased the most. The price of debentures has increased by 6 percent. Similarly, the price of Shine Resunga Debentures has increased by 3.40 percent. Meanwhile, the share price of Corporate Development Bank fell the most by 14.99 percent.

On the basis of transaction amount, Palpa Cement Ltd saw the highest volume of shares traded on the day. The company's shares worth Rs 583.3 million were traded. Similarly, shares of Reliance Spinning Mills worth Rs 346.8 million were traded.

Out of 13 sub-groups, only the indices of ‘other’ sub-group closed positive with a nominal point. The index of the remaining 12 sub-groups decreased. The index of hotel sub-group decreased the most by 2.56 percent while the index of manufacturing and processing sub-group decreased by 2.46 percent. Likewise, the indices of development bank and hydropower sub-group decreased by more than 1 percent on the day.
