This arrangement will be mainly related to energy and water resources. The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation is undertaking necessary preparations to establish an autonomous citizen fund and asset management company.
A certain percentage of income from the hydropower project to be owned by the government will be deposited in the autonomous citizen fund. Similarly, the government is setting up separate asset management company with an objective of giving ownership of the projects to the general and private sector by forming instead of running the project on its own.
Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha also said that the government is preparing the model of the fund and the company.
