NEPSE Index Declines, Transaction Amount Follows Suit

On the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE index has again declined. On Monday, the NEPSE index decreased by 1.03 points to close at 2,730.91 points.

Similarly, the sensitive index has increased by 0.50 points, the float index has increased by 0.02 points and the sensitive float index has increased by 0.18 points.

Along with index, the transaction amount has also decreased. A total of 5,828,604 units of shares worth Rs 2.45 billion were traded in 43,309 trades on the day.

On the day, Ingawa Hydropower's share price rose the most by 8.42 percent. Similarly, the share price of Bungal Hydro has increased by about 6.5 percent on the day, while the price of other stocks that have rose gained less than 3.5 percent. Meanwhile, NIFRA Energy Bonds 7 percent, fell the most on the day at 5.26 per cent.

On the basis of transaction amount, Sahas Energy is at the top on this day. The company's shares worth Rs 84.3 million were traded on the day. Similarly, share transaction of Reliance Spinning Mills worth Rs 75 million were traded on the day, while the turnover of SY Panel Nepal crossed Rs 70 million.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of five sub-groups increased while the indices of eight sub-groups declined. Banking, development banks, hydropower, investment and other sub-groups saw a general increase on the day. The indices of the sub-groups including finance, hotel and tourism, life insurance, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, mutual funds, non-life insurance and trading sub-groups decreased marginally.
