Rastriya Money Changer to Lose License; NRB Gives 35 Days to File Financial Claims

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has initiated the process to revoke the license of Rastriya Money Changer Pvt. Ltd., located in Bhimdatta Municipality (Mahendranagar), Kanchanpur.

The central bank's Dhangadhi office issued a public notice regarding the cancellation after the money changer submitted an application to voluntarily close its business operations.

According to the NRB, the institution requested the revocation of its license in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Money Changer Licensing and Inspection Regulations, 2077 (including the fourth amendment).

As part of the official closure procedure, the central bank has issued a 35-day ultimatum, calling upon individuals or organizations to settle any outstanding claims, financial transactions, or disputes with the money changer. Stakeholders must submit their claims to the NRB Dhangadhi office within 35 days from the date of the notice publication.

The central bank has stated that if no claims or complaints are received within the specified timeframe, the final process to cancel the money changer's license will be completed as per the prevailing regulations.
