CNP provides Rs 12.9 million in relief assistance last fiscal year

The Chitwan National Park (CNP) provided Rs 12.9 million in relief assistance to nearby settlements for the damages caused by wild animals.

The losses also include human casualties.

According to CNP information officer Abinash Thapa Magar, the CNP last fiscal year allocated Rs 134,176 for the treatment of minor human injuries and Rs 2,942,481 for the treatment of serious injuries.

Similarly, Rs 5 million was provided to the victims' families who died in wildlife attacks.

Likewise, Rs 2.36 million was provided for the damage to livestock, Rs 70,000 for the damage to foodstuff, Rs 339,650 for the damage to houses, Rs 2.18 million for crop damage, and Rs 43,500 for poultry damage, he said.

The CNP provides relief assistance for losses caused by wildlife in nearby settlements each year. (RSS)
