Everest Bank's net profit rises, EPS declines

Everest Bank (EBL) has published its fourth quarter report of the last FY. According to the report, the bank's net profit has increased marginally compared to the previous FY, while the earnings per share have decreased.

 The bank's net profit increased by 4.75 percent to Rs 5.06 billion from Rs 4.83 billion in the previous FY. The bank has earned a net interest income of Rs 9.19 billion during the period which is only 0.97 percent more than the previous FY. The bank's operating profit increased to Rs 7.38 billion from Rs 7.34 billion in the previous FY.

in the review period, the bank recorded net distributable profit of Rs 2.95 billion after regulatory adjustment. The total distributable profit of the bank has reached Rs. 5.25 billion after adjusting the accumulated profit and cash dividend payment of the previous year. Based on ordinary shareholders, the bank's distributable profit per share is Rs 38.32.

The bank's paid-up capital has increased to Rs 13.72 billion from Rs 12.94 billion in the previous FY. The bank's total equity stood at Rs 35.19 billion.

Deposits from customers increased by 5.76 percent to Rs 316 billion and loans to customers increased by 10.37 percent to Rs 235 billion. The total assets of the bank increased by 5.53 percent to Rs 383.75 billion.
