Santosh Singh Rathor, the spokesperson for the Karnali Province Police Office in Surkhet, reported that the Karnali Corridor, which connects Humla through Surkhet-Dailekh-Kalikot-Bajura, and the Karnali Highway linking Jumla and Mugu via the same route, are both impassable.
The blockage is primarily due to landslides in Aulise, located in Barahtal-7. Rathore also mentioned that the Mid-Hill Highway has been closed because of a landslide in Saniveri Rural Municipality-2 Samlekhola, while the Rapti Highway is blocked due to a landslide in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-5 Kharkhola in Salyan. Additionally, the Luham-Kalimati road section is affected by landslides in Surkhet-Salyan, and Dhungebagar in Triveni Rural Municipality-3 has also seen landslides in Ryale of Bangad Kupinde Municipality-8.
Other affected areas include Jajarkot Chedagad Municipality-4 Levavir, Kalikot Tilagufa Municipality-1 Bhigam, Jumla Tatopani Rural Municipality-1 Bairanka, and the Rankagaon road section, as well as Mugu Rara Chhayanath Municipality-7 and 8 Pina Gamgadhi-Nagam road section.
Spokesperson Rathore confirmed that excavators and other equipment have been dispatched to open the blockage.(RSS)
