Net Profit of Prudential Insurance Nears 70 Mn

The net profit of Prudential Insurance (PICL) increased by 8.8 percent to Rs 68.3 million in the second quarter of the current FY compared to Rs 62.8 million of the corresponding period of the last FY.

During the period, the company earned Rs 250.1 million in net insurance premium which increased by Rs 9.9 million compared to Rs 240.1 million.

In the review period, the company earned Rs 100.9 million through reinsurance commission and Rs 25 million in other income.

The company with Rs 641.5 million in paid-up capital has EPS of Rs 21.32. The EPS was Rs 29.39 in the last FY. Similarly, the company has net worth per share of Rs 201.47 and P/E ratio of 32.36 times.

Similarly, the company increased its reserve fund from Rs 166.5 million to Rs 211.1 million and insurance fund to Rs 385.7 million from Rs 385.7 million in the review period.

During the period, the company earned Rs 648.8 million in total insurance premium and has issued 67,217 insurance policies.

In the review period, the company paid Rs 351.2 million on 2,473 claims. It has outstanding claim of Rs 846.4 million to 3,290 claims.
